Update on App Cooker’s update

Where are the promised updates?

It’s been months since the last release of App Cooker and some of you started to be a little bit worried. This post is here to make it very clear that the development of App Cooker never ended. In fact it’s the opposite. Three major milestones will be done with this update: New colors, new links and new text tool. But it’s far from what we really did inside App Cooker. We have been fine tuning every aspect of the App and noticeably the graphic editor as well as fixing critical bugs that were affecting very few users. Nobody has been left behind.

Yes it took some time but we are really proud of what will soon be available on the App Store. The wait is over and you can trust us when we say that you worth it. We have been listening to all your feedback and made improvement on every single screens, modals, popovers and alerts to bring App Cooker to the next level. Making little patches would not have been good because it would always be like running after the bugs. That’s why we took the time to make a Beta test and get super-awesome power users to give us feedback. Murray, Jean-François, John, Benoit, Alexander, David, thank you all for the amazing work you have done.

Here is a non exhaustive list of new features and improvements the new version has:

  • Retina graphics
  • UI/UX polishing
  • New player with “Play-Edit-Play”
  • New link tool: Multiple links, custom animations (flip, curl, push, reveal, etc…), gesture support (multi tap, tap & hold, etc…), timer link, smart back, link auto attached to clickable components (such as button, bar buttons, tool bar, etc…)
  • New color management: Gradients, RGB, HSB, gray scale, color picker, custom user pallet, custom stroke
  • Shadows for vector shapes and images
  • Auto sizing text
  • Bug fixes
  • Cropping images
  • Numeric keypad
  • Social icons: Twitter, Facebook, Linked In
  • Huge improvements in performances

As a bonus, know that App Taster has also been updated to handle retina graphics on the iPhone and iPad and that you’ll be able to import files from Dropbox. We also redesigned our website and it will feature many tutorials videos. Here are some screenshots of the new interfaces you’ll have the joy to work with very soon. (Click to enlarge for Retina graphics). Thank you all for your patience.
